About The Area

	Eymet is a charming and delightful Bastide Town, full of wonderful buildings and history galore. The market in Eymet takes place every Thursday morning, providing a wide selection of local produce and crafts - not to mention an opportunity for gossip amongst English and French alike.
In the summer months there is also a Night Market every Tuesday - a very festive occasion with heaps of mussels, oysters, crepes and fois gras - a gastronomic delight even before the local wine is taken into consideration.
	There are also tennis courts and a heated outdoor pool in the village and three golf courses within close vicinity, Chateau des Vigiers being of championship quality. Nearby is the town of Bergerac with it's beautifully restored Old Quarter and riverside walks along the Dordogne. Further east takes you to Domme with it's splendid views across the river to Beynac. A little further is Sarlat, which delights everybody who vists there. Go west from Eymet for the famous wines of St. Emillion, Barsac, Pomerol, Margaux............. what more could you ask for?!
